Pepe Mel and David Moyes find themselves under increasing pressure as their sides prepare to meet in the Premier League on Saturday. After the surprising win with 2-1 at Old Trafford in September, the trend for has been one of declining fortunes for the Midlanders. They have won only 2 games out of 21 and the club have handed the reins to Pepe Mel in a bid to preserve their top-flight status. WBA is only one point above the relegation zone, with 18th-placed Sunderland having a game in hand.
Manchester United don’t have relegation issues to be worried about, but the inconsistency this season led to concerns about their qualification for CL and Europa League. The last four league games have produced only five points, despite United enjoying a relatively kind run of fixtures that included matches against Stoke City, Fulham and Crystal Palace. Since the advent of the Premier League in 1992, United have finished in the top three every season, and yet this time around they sit seventh, well short of the division’s leading sides.
Diego Lugano and Billy Jones are out for the Midlanders, Nicola Anelka is suspended.
United will have Juan Mata back after he was cup-tied for the UEFA Champions League clash against Olympiacos, Jonny Evans, Rafael and Phil Jones could all be in line for a return, significantly bolstering United’s options in defence.

Possible lineups:

WBA: Foster, Ridgewell, Olsson, McAuley, Reid, Brunt, Mulumbu, Morrison, Berahino, Thievy, Amalfitano

Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Cleverley, Carrick, Januzaj, Rooney, Mata, Persie
