Two strong Asian soccer teams are meeting on the 11th instant in the qualifier for the Word cup to be played in 2014. South Korea has a great record in this competition having reached the semifinal in the 2002 World cup hosted jointly by Korea and Japan. In the semi final they lost to Brazil. They fought to hold their own but had to give away to the eventual champions. Uzbekistan players used to find a place in the national team of the USSR until it broke off from the Soviet Union and became independent. Presently South Korea is ranked 40 and Uzbekistan is ranked 58 by FIFA.

An interesting match can be expected on the 11th Instant in Seoul. During the season, South Korea has played 12 matches and Uzbekistan has played 14 matches. Therefore both the teams are well geared and in fighting condition for the match. For the Koreans, playing at home is a great advantage. They have a very clean record of winning all their matches in the home without losing a single one or even having a draw. Their overall record wins are also quite high of being 60 %. Their record of goals scored is nearly 8 times the number of goals conceded by them.

For Uzbekistan, playing an away match does not hold any fear for the team with an impressive record of wins in away matches and clean chit of 6. One can expect that the Uzbekistan players giving a tough time to the Koreans. It is a question of whether the South Koreans will maintain their record of no losses or draws. Past record of the two teams meeting in the qualifiers is 2-2. If Uzbekistan manages even a draw it will be considered as a setback for the Koreans. It will be a safe guess to say that it will not be a draw by all accounts in a hard fought match.
