The FIFA confederations cup has been all over the Footy world ever since the last Football world cup ended. In addition, the whole footy world has been abuzz about all the matchups that have been decided, out of which most of the matchups for the preliminary elimination rounds have already been conducted and the winners announced. From Group A, which consisted of Japan, Brazil, Mexico and Italy, only two teams could have moved on to the next phase of the confederations cup and Brazil and Italy have filled those two spots. However, even though Mexico and Japan both have been eliminated, the match between them is still very well hyped. Set to take place Saturday, June 22nd 2013 at Estadio Mineirao in Minas Gerais, Brazil, this matchup is a fight to determine who the second runner is up, and who finishes last out of Group A.
Alas, both of these teams have nothing to lose and no regrets, except for the team that wounds up last that is. The team that loses this matchup will indeed be the team that finishes last in Group A of the FIFA confederations cup. And even though both these teams have had a rough season, let alone the rough time they have had in the confederations cup, they are ready to fight for their pride and for their honor. Even though both teams know that they will be walking home once this match is over, they are more determined than ever before.
Both these squads have been through a rough run in this world cup with Mexico struggling throughout the cup, scoring a mere two goals in their last five matches which dashed their chances of reaching the knockout stage, and Japan failing to secure a major upset against the likes of the Italian militia, thus eliminating any chances of them getting to the knockout stage either. Now, all that is left to witness is the gruesome battle between these entities for their pride and honor.
