Monica Seles is the youngest women’s champion, while Michael Chang is the youngest men’s champion.
Mats Wilander, Gustavo Kuerten, and Gaston Gaudio are the only unseeded players to clinch French open titles after the introduction of seeding system. Monica Seles and Justin Henin share the most consecutive titles record in women’s singles event with 3 wins each. Bjorn Borg and Rafael Nadal share the record of most consecutive titles record in men’s singles event with 4 victories each. Match between Fabrice Santoro and Arnaud Clement in 2004 holds the record the longest match in French open as it lasted 6 hours and 33 minutes. Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi hold the record for maximum number of men’s doubles titles by winning 4 titles each, twice as a team and twice with different partners.
