Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon having seen their lead at the top of the Premier League cut by their title rivals’ victories in midweek. With Chelsea the first to play out of the trio this weekend, they could re-establish their six-point advantage with success over London rivals Palace, who are winless in their last five outings, at Selhurst Park. The Eagles remain outside of the drop zone, but only by three points following a poor March and consecutive defeats home, so Tony Pulis is likely to line up with the intent of settling for a point.
Crystal Palace’s striker crisis shows no sign of easing ahead of the visit of the leaders as Pulis has confirmed that Marouane Chamakh and Dwight Gayle will again miss out. The duo have scored eight of the side’s 19 league goals in 2013-14. The Eagles are without a league win at home against Chelsea since August 1990. Chelsea, by comparison, are searching for a sixth straight win over Palace and will view the game as a chance to shift the pressure on to title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, who face Tottenham and Arsenal respectively this weekend.
Dwight Gayle looks set to miss out again with the ankle injury he picked up at ahead of the Newcastle game. Ramires is suspended for Chelsea.

Possible lineups

Crystal Palace: Speroni, Ward, Delany, Dann, Mariappa, Bolasie, Ledley, Jedinak, Puncheon, Ince, Jerome

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Matic, Lampard, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, Torres
